A Dopey Christmas

A 15"x11" watercolor on 300lb cp paper.  My Mom passed away one week ago.  She collected Disney ornaments, so I thought it would be fun to paint them into Christmas scenes.  She would have loved it!

The Freeze

This is a watercolor I did for "paintmyphotos" using a reference photo from Robyn Lovelock that was taken by Steve Gibbs photo of winter. http://paintmyphoto.ning.com/photo/steve-gibbs-photo-of-winter?xg_source=activity   I used 300lb paper with white gouach on the trees. Colors were burnt sienna, ultrablue, raw sienna, permanent rose.

El Capitan in Yosemite Park

Watercolor on 11" X 15" Fabrino 140 lbs CP paper.  This is my first painting of Yosemite.  I have camped there many times and the granite formations are truly spectacular.  I tried to capture the spectacular:) The color tended to sit on top of the paper.  This is the first using fabrino paper. I used a little white graphic on the background trees, the rest of the white is the paper.  The Merced River flows in the foreground.
