Peeping out from their Burrows.....
A 15"x11" watercolor on 300lb cp paper. The reference photo for the haystack came from PaintmyPhotos. I am honing my skills on using night colors, so the focus was on color, not so much on composition. My two reference photos was a house and a stack of hay, but it needed something more. Something that would bring the empty field to life. What lives and burrows in fields? Rabbits and the beginning of a story.

Hi I found your blog from Roger Brown's. Your watercolors are very nice, right now I'm sculpting and painting in oils but would like to get back to watercolors too. I like your composition on this, the rabbits do help to create a story.
ReplyDeleteWonderful composition and your colors are always special...incredibly vivid !
ReplyDeleteHi Karen, I like your colors, they are so attractive and unique, like in these beautiful nightscape. Great idea to have the rabbits in the foreground, they give live to the painting. Ciao!
